Intraoral Cameras

Patient education is an important part of dentistry, and it is why we use intraoral cameras in our pediatric dental office. Apart from the up-close images our dentists can see with the help of this camera-tipped, handheld device, we can show your child what is going on inside their mouth so that they have a clearer understanding of how to properly take care of their teeth and gums. We can also more thoroughly explain the type of treatment they will need and why.

All-Digital Dental X-Rays

Traditional radiographs often leave parents feeling worried about the safety of their children, but our Dexis all-digital X-ray device is a better alternative that emits far less radiation, making it a safer choice for digital imaging. With pictures that can be viewed in just seconds, we can view your child’s teeth, gums, and areas beneath the gumline with greater resolution. This allows us to prepare more thorough treatment plans that lead to more accurate results.

3D Cone Beam Imaging

When your child requires more complex and extensive dental treatment (i.e., pulp therapy, tooth extractions, etc.), we use our Dexis 3D Cone Beam Imaging system. Complete with a 360-degree rotating arm, it captures hundreds of images of your child’s facial and oral structures, including their teeth, gums, nerve pathways, bones, blood vessels, etc., and combines to create a single 3D model for easy viewing. Our dentists can then evaluate the results and build a more precise treatment plan.

Digital Dental Impression System

Most children do not like the feeling of cold, messy dental putty. When biting down, many kids feel the need to gag, making the experience difficult and unpleasant. Fortunately, we no longer use this method to capture impressions. Instead, we use our iTero digital impression system to quickly scan your child’s teeth. In just minutes, a three-dimensional model will appear on a nearby monitor, allowing our team to review the scan and make necessary adjustments before sending it off to a dental lab for restoration creation.

Cavity Detection System

Children are prone to developing cavities, especially when unhealthy diets, poor oral hygiene, and neglected six-month checkups are the “norm.” Detecting them early on is essential if more complex dental care is to be avoided. With our new cavity detection system, we can use a specialized light that quickly scans their mouth to check for signs of decay. Its precision allows for even the smallest areas to be identified, making it easy for our team to build a treatment plan that targets the problem right away.
